{Saturday Blogging} Elegance & Simplicity {Something Blue Bridal Boutique, Holly Michigan}

With our wedding only 2 weeks away I've been catching up on all my favorite wedding blogs for last minute inspiration!! There's always my favorite stand-bys, Style Me Pretty & Snippet & Ink... but I want to start sharing some of the others I keep tucked away in my Favorites!

I was most inspired by the blog Elegance & Simplicity...well, because those were my favorite words to use while describing our wedding! We've tried to do what we can that keeps the overall budget to a conservative low and doesn't make a lot of waste....all while keeping it elegant!

One of my favorite ideas was making a Ceremony "Poster" in-lieu of ceremony programs... those poor little things just get thrown away! The poster will cut back on wasted paper, ink, and printing energy! And they are so customizable and fun! Can't wait to share pictures of ours with you! Our seating chart is also in 'poster' style, which again saves the waste of 100s of tiny table number cards...that again, just go to waste!

We also had our RSVPs come back in the form of a postcard, which has been a very popular trend! It saves from having to encase the RSVP in an envelope and is about half the postage!

Our favors are something that people can use for a short time and when they are done the glass container can be recycled... or refilled! {Stay tuned to find out what they are!}

My dress is eco-friendly in a way...I bought it as a sample {off-the-rack} so a new one didn't have to be manufactured and shipped. One less imprint on the earth.

Our flowers are simple and quite the vase fillers. We have chosen baby's breath and peony-like roses which have very big blossoms. Some vases will be full of baby's breath and the others the roses. Minimal flowers and arranging them ourselves cuts our floral budget in half, especially when reusing vases from a friends wedding.

Our ceremony & reception location are all in one...saving the need to print extra directions in our invites and excessive driving for guests. {And our wedding location, Royal Park Hotel, just received a Green Lodging Certificate, so that's always an added bonus!}

Our Ring Bearers Tux is a hand-me down and our Flower Girls dress is locally handmade! {Bought at Morgan's Boutique in Downtown Holly}

Our invite set, created by us! Printed on eco-friendly grey paper!

Digital file of our seating chart so far...work in progress...
